Bush Bean
Collected from the Arikara peoples of South Dakota. it was first introduced it as the ’Yellow Indian’ in the 1880’s. The name was later changed to Arikara Yellow. It is a fairly early maturing, determinate, compact, bush-type heirloom variety that produces tannish-yellow bean seeds. Although primarily used as a dry bean, it can also be harvested as a snap bean around 45 days. An excellent dry bean with good drought tolerance and disease resistance.
